Monstera Deliciosa Aurea 17cm

🌿 Monstera deliciosa ‘Aurea’ Care Guide

Monstera deliciosa Aurea is all about golden tropical drama — huge fenestrated leaves splashed with vibrant yellow variegation that make every new leaf a showpiece. Slower-growing than a green Monstera but incredibly rewarding, this collector's favourite brings bold colour and jungle vibes to any indoor space. 🌿✨

☀️ Light

• Thrives in bright, indirect light
• Needs strong filtered light to maintain vibrant golden variegation
• Avoid direct sun — yellow variegated areas can scorch easily
• Too little light may reduce variegation and slow growth

💧 Water

• Allow the top half of the soil to dry out between waterings
• Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away
• Use a chunky, airy aroid mix with excellent drainage
• Avoid leaving roots sitting in wet soil

🌫️ Humidity

• Prefers moderate to high humidity (60–80%)
• Higher humidity encourages larger leaves and cleaner unfurling
• Warm, stable conditions support vigorous growth
• Good airflow helps keep foliage healthy

🍽️ Feeding

• Feed every 4–6 weeks during active growth
• Use a balanced diluted liquid fertiliser
• Reduce feeding during cooler months

🌱 Quick Tips

• Provide a moss pole or sturdy support for larger, mature foliage
• Variegated plants naturally grow more slowly than green forms
• Rotate occasionally for balanced growth
• Wipe leaves regularly to keep the variegation bright and healthy

💡 Big Plant Lad Wisdom

Aurea is one of those plants that teaches patience. You wait weeks for a new leaf, then it unfurls covered in golden splashes and suddenly the wait feels completely worth it. 🌿✨
