🌿 Agave Stricta ‘Nana’ Care Guide

Agave stricta ‘Nana’ forms a wonderfully compact rosette of narrow, spiky leaves, giving it a distinctive hedgehog-like appearance. It is a sun lover and much happier with dry roots than wet ones. 

☀️ Light

• Give it the brightest position you have.
• Full sun is ideal once the plant has acclimatised.
• A bright south-facing window is particularly useful indoors.
• Low light can cause weaker, more open growth.

💧 Water

• Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings.
• Water thoroughly when dry and allow it to drain fully.
• Keep watering to a minimum during winter.
• Avoid allowing water to collect in the centre of the rosette. 

🌫️ Humidity

• Prefers drier conditions.
• It doesn’t need additional humidity.
• Good airflow is important, particularly around the dense rosette.

🍽️ Feeding

• Feed lightly with a cactus fertiliser during spring and summer.
• Around three light applications through the growing season are plenty.
• Avoid feeding during winter.

• Use gritty, free-draining soil.
• Give it plenty of sunshine.
• Handle the sharp foliage carefully.
• Don’t overwater.
• It can produce offsets as it matures.
