Melo is all about texture — thick, heavily ridged blue-grey leaves that look more like carved stone than living foliage. Compact, unusual, and one of the most distinctive Alocasias you can grow. It may look tough, but it still appreciates classic Alocasia conditions. 🌿✨

☀️ Light

• Thrives in bright, indirect light
• Can tolerate medium light, but growth slows noticeably
• Avoid direct sun — leaves can scorch and lose their beautiful colour

💧 Water

• Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry before watering
• Keep lightly moist, but never soggy
• Thick leaves store a little moisture, making it slightly more forgiving than some Alocasias
• Excellent drainage is essential

🌫️ Humidity

• Prefers high humidity (60–80%)
• Handles average household humidity better than some Alocasias
• Higher humidity still promotes healthier growth and cleaner leaves

🍽️ Feeding

• Feed every 2–4 weeks during active growth
• Use a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength
• Reduce feeding during cooler months or dormancy
