Like most Agaves, it prefers plenty of sunshine and considerably less water than your tropical houseplants. We recommends full light, sharply draining soil and allowing the growing medium to dry between waterings.

☀️ Light

Give it very bright light and plenty of sunshine.

A sunny south or west-facing window can be ideal.

Introduce stronger direct sunlight gradually.

Good light helps maintain strong, compact growth.

💧 Water

Allow the soil to dry thoroughly before watering again.

Water deeply, then allow it to drain completely.

Water less frequently during autumn and winter.

Never leave the roots sitting in water.

🌫️ Humidity

Normal household humidity is absolutely fine.

It does not require additional humidity.

Good airflow is preferable to a damp environment.

🍽️ Feeding

Feed lightly during spring and summer.

A low-nitrogen cactus or succulent feed is a good choice.

Avoid excessive fertiliser, particularly during winter.

🌱 Quick Tips

Use a sharply draining cactus or succulent mix.

Choose a pot with excellent drainage.

Be careful when handling the leaf tips and edges.

Allow the plant to dry properly between drinks.

Keep winter conditions bright and considerably drier.

💡 Big Plant Lad Wisdom

Agaves are wonderfully independent.
